Who We Are

Turgay Özben

Mr. Turgay Özben was born in Turkey. He graduated from the Marmara University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Turkey, in 1978. After graduation he finished his military service in Erzurum as an officer.

From 1980 to 1995 Mr. Özben worked for ENKA. He held various positions in the marketing department in their Iraq Office. From 1982-1987 he was the Baghdad Office Manager and he also worked in Russia from 1987 -1995 as area representative and later moved to the head office in Istanbul.

In 1995, Mr. Özben established his own company and started exporting different types of citrus products from Turkey to the EU. In addition, he also established another company to import fishmeal from Peru and protein concentrate from Denmark for a number of poultry producers in Turkey, which he carried out till 2006.

In 2006, Mr. Özben became a consultant for Umde Engineering Co. Ltd. located in Istanbul as a Foreign Trade Adviser. Umde Engineering Co. is a supplier of turnkey food and chemical production with plants in Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Russia and other countries in the world.

In 2009, Mr. Özben joined Eastern Lights Energy as Development Manager for Iraq. His many years of experience in Iraq compliments Adwa-Al-Sharq’s already existing expertise in the region.
